Paramount Skydance Will Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – News

Skydance Paramount plans to begin mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August valued at $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are likely, with Paramount Skydance planning to announce complete information in its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Prior news had indicated that Paramount aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

Until December 2024, the organization employed almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not provided a response to a request for comment.
