Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
Success also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and regular reactions on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
